Healthy Tea for Healthier Teeth
It is an unusual thought to pair tea drinking with dental health, as it is more commonly known that drinking tea and coffee supposedly stains teeth. That may very well be the case for some teas and coffee, but when it comes to white tea, the affects on teeth are the complete opposite.
White tea contains fluorides and flavonoids which are each beneficial to the teeth and gums in different ways. Fluoride is a natural compound that protects the teeth from tooth decay by strengthening tooth enamel. And flavonoids are plant metabolites that are said to prevent the growth of plaque bacteria. When drinking a tea that contains both fluorides and flavonoids, it makes sense that your teeth and gum health will strengthen right?
Yes! Right! And we have found a study that proves exactly this. A study was conducted by Professor Dr. Milton Schiffenbauer and students at Dyson College, New York, that tested the the effects white tea had on dental health. What they found was quite remarkable!
This study found that white tea extract killed viruses and destroyed bacteria that cause infections such as strep throat, pneumonia, and cavities in teeth. “Past studies have shown that green tea stimulates the immune system to fight disease,” says Milton Schiffenbauer, a microbiologist and professor in the biology department and primary author of the research.“Our new research shows white tea extract (WTE) can actually destroy in vitro the organisms that cause disease."
The results from this study lead to experimentation with white tea extract in toothpaste with companies such as, Aim, Aquafresh, Colgate, Crest, and Orajel. The results proved that adding white tea extract to the toothpaste enhanced its anti-viral and anti-bacterial effects on teeth and gums.
So basically, drinking white tea will be sure to keep your dental health up to scratch, which will hopefully result in less money spent at the dentist, we all know what those dental bills can look like!
The health benefits of drinking white tea are endless and the studies continue. Everyday we are learning more and more about this powerful beverage! Its time you gave it a go yourself.
"Study after study with tea extract proves that it has many healing properties. This is not an old wives’ tale, it’s a fact.” - Dr Milton Schiffenbauer

What a Beau'tea'
There is a wonderful quote by Antonio Banderas, 'I drink a bucket of white tea in the morning. I read about this tea of the Emperor of China, which is supposedly the tea of eternal youth. It's called Silver Needle.' The tea of eternal youth, it sure has a good ring to it and i have to tell you, that is the perfect description for this kind of tea.
Silver Needle has an abundance of health benefits due to all the amazing antioxidants contained within, it also contains many beauty benefits particularly when it comes to skin. There are certain plant extracts found within Silver Needle tea leaves that act as protection for the two main proteins in the skin: ELASTIN and COLLAGEN. I'm sure you are all quite familiar with these two words, and i am sure that if there was a natural way of protecting and healing both elastin and collagen in your skin you would pounce on it right!? I mean who doesn't want eternal youthful looking skin?? Not only does silver needle protect the skin from damage, it has also been proven to heal the damage that occurs from the suns rays. In simple terms silver needle helps make your skin tighter, brighter and fuller, all you need to do is drink it everyday. Easy!
+ ANTI-AGING
+ PROTECTS AND HEALS SKIN
+ BRIGHTENS EYES
+ WHITENS TEETH
+ TIGHTENS SKIN
+ GLOWING COMPLEXION
Skin is not the only part of the body that benefits from silver needle, these tea leaves also contain small amounts of fluoride, which can drastically improve oral health, giving you a nice white shiny smile. It is not like other tea and coffee that can actually stain your teeth.
