Let’s talk about STRESS!
We all hate stress and want to avoid it but as we all have experienced, it isn’t as easy as it seems.
If your body feels even just a bit of anxiety, it will trigger your brain to release the enemy, stress hormones 👿. Your heart starts racing, your blood pressure goes up, and your breath quickens. These effects are hard to avoid because your body is naturally programmed to protect yourself from possible emergencies. However, if this continues it can cause some serious damage to your health.
Some of the effects of stress are: increase in depression, insomnia, risk of heart attack, rise in blood sugar levels, weight gain, and more.
BUT! Here’s the good news! White tea can very well cross out all of those effects easily!
First of all, white tea has been found to reduce the amount of cortisol, the stress hormones, in your body by almost 50 percent within an hour of drinking it, which also goes to say that it can decrease the risk of heart attacks. Now that’s music to my ears🎶.
The reason behind this is said to be because of the chemically complex nature of tea. It contains ingredients such as catechins, polyphenols, flavonoids, and amino acids, which are all known to have effects on the brain’s neurotransmitters.
Surprisingly, white tea is an antidepressant as it has EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), which has the ability to decrease depression by 44%! Thanks again to EGCG, white tea is also able to stimulate fat breakdown and prevent new fat cells from forming. Moreover, studies have found that EGCG (again!) and other polyphenols in white tea are capable of enhancing the effects of insulin, reducing and keeping the blood sugar levels from going out the roof. All hail EGCG 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
And lastly, while black and green tea contain fair amounts of caffeine, because white tea is not as processed, it contains far less caffeine. For those sensitive to caffeine when it comes to sleep, rest assured, the amount in white tea will not affect your sleep and rather, the warm, soothing tea will help you fall asleep like a baby.
Yes, we know that it is almost odd to see white tea have all the properties that combat the effects of stress. Even better, it also has the ability to keep stress itself at bay in a completely natural and healthy way! White tea is definitely the superman of all teas, which is why we choose to only offer tea blends based on white tea 💝
